It seems like cryptocurrency and blockchain are words thrown around all over the place these days, but what exactly are they? Bitcoin offered a digital store of value, but what does Ethereum bring to the table? Smart contracts actually let you execute code on the blockchain itself, but how exactly does that work, and what exactly does mining do? Full Stack Developer Tom Morris explores all these topics to hopefully answer the real question at stake: Can blockchain really live up to all the hype surrounding it?
Thomas Morris hails from Corpus Christi, Texas and has been living in Prague since 2018. Tom originally started as a Rails developer, but now lives in the full-stack universe, preferring TypeScript on the frontend. Outside of work, he occupies his time thinking about what it means to be human and how to slow down in an increasingly connected world. He also enjoys houseplants, refactoring, and a good cup of coffee.
