Pepper’s Ghost uses a simple technique that reflects an image off of a surface to create the illusion of a 3D object floating in physical space. Although it was invented in 1584, there are ways to apply it using modern technology. Businesses can make models to display their product in a 3D environment as opposed to just showing it on a flat surface.
During his presentation, Full-Stack Developer Igor Lobiv explains an approach which uses the Pepper’s Ghost technique in conjunction with a normal smartphone. He also demonstrates how to build your own and provides the needed measurements.
Before amassing nearly a decade of full-stack experience, Igor worked on backend development and web browser extensions. He prefers solving non-trivial problems and strongly believes that one day, unit tests will save our galaxy. When he’s not in the office, you can find him hiking in the mountains, cross-country skiing, or playing board games.
